Supporting
As with independent schools everywhere, financial support is crucial to sustaining educational excellence. Such support is an investment in our children as well as an investment in our community.
It is through the generosity of our parents and many other constituents that Canterbury School is able to provide excellent programs and facilities for its students. It is philanthropy that has built Canterbury into one of the finest independent schools in Southwest Florida. Our goal each year is not only to raise the funds that make the school's mission and vision possible, but also to encourage every family to be part of the team. Together we can make a great school even better.
Our annual operating revenue comes primarily from two sources: tuition and philanthropic gifts. Each constituent is strongly encouraged to support Canterbury's Annual Fund and other giving campaigns. Because Canterbury School is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, contributions to the school are tax deductible as allowed by law. In addition, many employers have matching gift programs that can augment employee donations.
Volunteerism
Parents are very involved members of the Canterbury School community. We are truly a family. Like any family, we draw strength and support from the many talents and resources our families provide.
The Parents' Association mission is to enrich the school through its efforts and to enhance communication among parents, students, faculty, staff and administration. In addition, Parents' Association volunteers spearhead a number of campus events and programs that enhance the school's advancement. Our parent members also serve on committees that help support the school's educational mission.
