Academics
Canterbury School’s college preparatory curriculum helps students grow to gain skills, knowledge, and the ability to reason to meet the demands of a college education and to succeed in everyday life. Canterbury provides a demanding yet supportive environment in which students are challenged, learn, take risks and excel.
There are four divisions: Lower (grades Pre-K3-3), Intermediate (grades 4-6) Middle (grades 7-8) and Upper (grades 9-12).
The Lower and Intermediate schools have dedicated art and music classrooms, science laboratories and computer labs and classrooms. They share a library.
The Middle and Upper schools share a library and music and art classrooms but have separate science science laboratories, computer labs, classrooms and commons areas.
The entire school shares the Hanno Dining Hall; a gymnasium and the Murphy Sports Center; Torpey's Tank; an outdoor marine biology touch tank and classoom; and a performing arts center.
Canterbury’s integrated, innovative curriculum emphasizes group and individual study of the liberal arts in addition to experiential learning and community service opportunities.
Canterbury School welcomes students who will benefit from our academically challenging and enriching college preparatory programs and who will contribute their own special talents and enthusiasm to the school community.
