Designed by the experts at MIT, this unique system teaches children about simple machines, engineering, programming and so much more. Our young designers will explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, as well as language and literacy. This class explores languages and cultures while using the computer as a learning tool. In this “World Tour,” Students combine software and hands-on activities to explore diverse cultures, their unique customs, languages and geography. Hands-on building helps illustrate key engineering educational concepts and solar energy. This engaging and innovative class pulls together math and science concepts. This two week course will introduce students to the graphic arts through the use of Photoshop. Students will learn how to add and extract objects from existing photographs. The course will also include a discussion of various careers which require such skills and talents. Camp F.I.T. is supervised by a certified fitness trainer and monitored by physicians. The program incorporates resistance training, core strengthening, cardio conditioning and nutritional education to help you make healthy eating choices and lifestyle changes. The camp includes games, weekly guest speakers, and wellness monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, weight and body mass index. Water will be provided. After the huge success of 2009, the Canterbury Campus will be host to a third “British Invasion” this year when the John Robinson Soccer School returns in the summer. Over 160 young and enthusiastic soccer players attended last year’s school, enjoying professional training from highly qualified British coaches. Space is limited. Early registration is advised this summer, due to the overwhelming response of last summer. Our program includes plenty of your favorite activities, alongside some new ideas, such as soccer tennis and soccer cricket. The school will be run by John Robinson and his partner Phil Morris. During his professional career, John made over 500 appearances for several clubs in the UK, the majority of which were with Charlton Athletic in the English Premier League. He also made 30 appearances for Wales in World Cup and European Championship qualifying games. Phil won a British Universities National Championship in 1995 while attending the University of Greenwich, London. He then coached the team to two last eight appearances in 1996 and 1997, losing on PK’s to the eventual winners on both occasions. Phil also played for several semi professional teams around the London and South East area.

Each
day campers find themselves in or on the water. Studies in marine
biology are combined with sailing, canoeing and snorkeling for an
adventurous time on the beaches, bay waters and bayous of our local
coastline. The camp's base is the Marine Environmental Science Center
located at Canterbury School. Here students will set up and maintain
aquariums as well as enjoy the 1000-gallon touch tank. Campers will
increase their awareness of and sensitivity to our local marine

- Canterbury once again teaches Kapla Block Creative Construction! These innovative building blocks enhance awareness, vision and skill. This activity is fun for children of all ages. Canterbury's Upper School Physics Teacher Mr. Mark Pettis will be one of the construction contractors leading the discovery.
- Before Camp Care is available from 8:30-9:00 a.m. each day for an additional fee of $25 per week. Care may be given on a daily, as needed basis, for $5.
