Canterbury School does not accept funding from any government entity. Preserving our independence is central to our mission, and accepting such funds could invite regulatory oversight that compromises the autonomy we value so deeply. We are committed to making a Canterbury education accessible to families with demonstrated financial needs. Our financial aid program is funded through generous private support, not government subsidies, and we encourage eligible families to apply.

Yes. Canterbury’s admission process is entirely separate from financial aid decisions. Financial need is not considered when evaluating applicants for admission.

Absolutely. All financial aid applications and awards are kept confidential. Publicly sharing award information is against school policy and may impact current or future aid.

Canterbury expects both parents to contribute to tuition. If a parent chooses not to work and their youngest child is school-aged (kindergarten or older), an annual income may be imputed in the aid calculation.

Both custodial and non-custodial parents must submit financial information, including tax returns. Step-parent resources are also considered. The school does not recognize divorce agreements that assign sole financial responsibility to one parent.
