Meet Len Armstrong

Our newest feature spotlights Len Armstrong, Canterbury’s Head of Upper School. Len joined Canterbury this year as Interim Head of Upper School and has now been officially appointed to the role, bringing steady leadership and a clear vision for the future.

He began his career as a teacher and coach before stepping into a variety of leadership roles across independent schools, including Head of Lower School, Head of Middle School, Head of Admissions, and Head of School.

In this video, Len shares his journey in education, what he believes defines a strong Upper School experience, and what he is most excited to build alongside Canterbury’s students, faculty, and families.

 

Meet Kayla Swetz

Our newest feature spotlights Kayla Swetz, Canterbury’s Middle School Mathematics Teacher. Kayla teaches seventh-grade math, inspiring students to explore, question, and enjoy the beauty of numbers.

She started her journey in engineering before discovering her true passion lay in teaching, a path that has led her through decades of experience in independent schools.

Meet Sandy Nelson

Our first feature spotlights Sandy Nelson, Canterbury’s Assistant Head of School for Academics, a new position made possible by the Dosoretz Family Fund for Academic Excellence. In this new role, Sandy leads our academic vision across all divisions, ensuring that Canterbury’s curriculum, teaching, and innovation continue to grow in bold and meaningful ways.
