On Friday, September 20, Canterbury welcomed Matt Dolan as our first LIFT Speaker of the 2019-2020 school year. LIFT, or Leadership Institute for Tomorrow, aims to help our students develop their real-world leadership skills. Introducing our students to leaders in our community and beyond is just one of the many opportunities provided by LIFT.
Mr. Dolan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Dolan served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal, deploying to the Middle East and Pacific. From 1993 to 2012, Mr. Dolan served as a Navy lawyer and general counsel for the United States Naval Academy. Mr. Dolan retired from the Navy in 2012 and currently works for Freeh Group International Solutions, LLC, a global risk management firm serving in the areas of business integrity and compliance, safety and security, and investigations and due diligence.
Mr. Dolan addressed both our Middle and Upper School students during two different presentations. He discussed his experience as a Navy Seal and what the training taught him about leadership. You can watch both presentations by clicking the links below.
