Faculty Spotlight: Christiana Deeter

At first glance, learning chemistry may not seem like a lot of fun. Some might describe it as stressful. But take a step into Christiana Deeter’s classroom and prepare to have a blast firing up the Bunsen burner to get a better understanding of how real-world phenomena work.
Christiana joined our Science Department to teach Chemistry in our Upper School in 2018. This year she is also teaching Forensics Honors in addition to her AP Chemistry and Chemistry Honors with Advanced Topics classes. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Furman University and she is certified by the American Chemical Society. Her work on a novel photodynamic cancer therapy was presented to the American Chemical Society's annual conference in 2009.
