The Canterbury Arts Department would like to shine a light on our rockstar second grade music students.
Both music classes from Mr. Rees and Mrs. Persichilli's classes have been focusing on rhythm patterns and melodic movement. After working with “dog-gone” patterns of dog (quarter note) and pup-py (eighth notes), they have been creating special songs using boomwhackers (pitched tubes).
Each student is working within a small group setting to compose a unique tune for chants already used in music classes. The creations are still works in progress, but we are so impressed with their progress thus far.
