A Joyful Finale: Grandparents + Grandfriends Day With Grades 5 & 6

Canterbury School wrapped up our three-day Grandparents + Grandfriends Day celebration with a wonderful morning dedicated to our fifth- and sixth-grade students and their special guests. The day began in the Hanno Dining Hall, where grandparents and grandfriends checked in, enjoyed coffee and breakfast, and heard welcoming remarks from Head of School Rick Kirschner and Associate Head of School George Pappas.

5-6 Grandparents Day

Soon after, students arrived to escort their guests to the Middle School classrooms. Along the way, they proudly pointed out their lockers, introduced teachers, and shared a glimpse into their daily routines. In the classrooms, students and grandparents participated in engaging activities - playing games, discussing favorite memories, and enjoying meaningful conversations that highlighted the strong connections between generations. They also spent time together during the students’ snack break, making the morning even more special.

The celebration concluded in the Performing Arts Center, where grandparents and grandfriends were treated to fantastic performances. Students sang, and both bands took the stage, showcasing their hard work and musical growth.

It was a joyful ending to a beautiful three-day tradition. Thank you to all the grandparents and grandfriends who joined us this week - your presence, love, and support mean so much to our Cougar community!
