Bradley L. '27 Shares CLEO's Global Impact at Penn GSE Academy at Oxford

Canterbury School is proud to recognize Bradley L. '27 for representing Canterbury and the global nonprofit CLEO as a guest speaker at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE) Academy at Oxford this summer.

Bradley joined Canterbury alumnus and brother, Christian L. '24, in presenting to an international cohort of aspiring entrepreneurs and changemakers. In collaboration with Penn GSE Director of Innovative Programs Mr. John Gamba, the brothers shared the story of CLEO, an organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide for senior citizens.

During the program, Bradley discussed CLEO's growth from a simple idea into a global initiative, sharing lessons learned from the organization's entrepreneurial journey, expansion, and mission-driven approach. He also spoke about "social impact in the age of AI," exploring how emerging technologies will influence the future of startups and nonprofits.

"Speaking at the Penn GSE Academy at Oxford was an amazing experience," said Bradley. "Mr. John Gamba gave me the opportunity to join in and talk about how we grew CLEO to where it is today from an entrepreneurial standpoint."

CLEO began after Christian L. '24, Aaron S. '24, and Derrick H. '24 noticed their own grandparents struggled to stay connected because they were unfamiliar with modern technology. Bradley later helped lead the organization's expansion efforts, growing CLEO into a global initiative that now impacts more than 3,000 senior citizens across more than 20 states and four countries.

"Each student in the Penn GSE Academy Program had just started working on their own project to make a positive social impact, and they asked numerous questions about the best ways to get an organization up and running," Bradley shared. "Hopefully, I taught them methods and lessons that they had not yet known, enabling them to go off and help society just as much, or even more than CLEO has."

Bradley's invitation to speak at the Penn GSE Academy at Oxford highlights his commitment to innovation, leadership, and service while demonstrating the impact Canterbury students can have beyond the classroom.
