After learning about the ancient Sumerians and their impressive ziggurats, students put their knowledge to work by designing and building ziggurats of their own. But these weren’t just ordinary models—each group incorporated a working marble run into its creation.

To add a little friendly competition, groups tested their designs to see whose marble could travel the farthest for bonus points. From ancient history to creative engineering, students had a fun opportunity to combine what they learned with problem-solving, teamwork, and a little bit of competition!
