Canterbury Alum Madison Franz ’20 Named 2026 FGCU Soaring Eagle Alumni Award Recipient

Canterbury School is proud to celebrate Madison Franz ’20, a Canterbury alum and third grade educator, who has been named the 2026 Soaring Eagle Alumni Award recipient for the College of Education by Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).

The Soaring Eagle Alumni Award recognizes one outstanding alumnus from each academic college at FGCU each year, honoring graduates who demonstrate exceptional professional achievement, leadership, and service. With 135 nominations submitted university-wide, Franz was selected to represent the College of Education - an honor that highlights her dedication to teaching and her impact in the classroom.

“I am incredibly honored to have been selected as the recipient of FGCU’s 2026 Soaring Eagle Alumni Award,” Franz shared. “One alum from each academic college at FGCU is selected each year, and with 135 nominations this year, I am truly humbled to be chosen as the award recipient for the College of Education. I am so grateful for my time at FGCU and for the opportunity to do what I love each day at Canterbury.”

Franz graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2023 and was inducted into the FGCU Hall of Fame the same year, a prestigious recognition awarded to alumni who exemplify excellence and leadership in their profession.

Now back on campus where her own educational journey began, Franz joined Canterbury School for the 2025-2026 school year as a third grade educator. Her passion for learning, commitment to students, and dedication to the Canterbury community make this recognition especially meaningful.

A huge congratulations to Ms. Franz on this well-deserved honor!
