Canterbury's Elan R. '27 Earns Prestigious Drama Opportunity in Oxford

Canterbury student Elan R. ’27 has achieved an exciting milestone in his theatrical journey after being accepted into the British American Drama Academy for its highly selective Three-Week Shakespeare Conservatory Program in Oxford, England. Elan will travel to Oxford in July 2026 to study classical acting and Shakespearean performance alongside talented young actors from around the world.

Elan’s recent accomplishments highlight his growing impact in theatre. He earned Critics Choice for Student Direction for his direction of Chairs and will represent District 7 at the state level for his work on the production. In addition, Elan will also compete at states with a monologue performance, further showcasing his talent as a performer.

On campus, Elan currently stars as the lead in The Mousetrap, continuing to demonstrate both his performance and leadership abilities within the theatre program.

According to theatre director Aaron Jackson, Elan’s character and collaborative spirit make him stand out both on and off the stage.

“Elan is truly a dream to work with,” Jackson shared. “He is always willing to step in and help wherever it’s needed, and he does it all with a smile. He’s a team player and such a respectful young man, which makes him an incredible asset to our theatre program.”

With achievements both on and off the stage, Elan’s dedication to the performing arts continues to shine, and the Canterbury community looks forward to seeing all he accomplishes in Oxford this summer. 🎭
