Students began by carefully observing a celery stalk using only their eyes. Without touching it, they drew what they noticed and recorded the details they could see.

Next, students were able to pick up the celery and examine it more closely. To take their observations even further, they used magnifying glasses to explore the tiny details that aren’t always visible at first glance.

Throughout the lesson, students practiced an important scientific skill: slowing down, looking closely, and noticing details.
