We are excited to debut Faces of Canterbury, a new video series that highlights the people who inspire, guide, and shape the Canterbury experience.
Our first feature spotlights Sandy Nelson, Canterbury’s Assistant Head of School for Academics, a new position made possible by the Dosoretz Family Fund for Academic Excellence. In this new role, Sandy leads our academic vision across all divisions, ensuring that Canterbury’s curriculum, teaching, and innovation continue to grow in bold and meaningful ways.
Before joining Canterbury, Sandy founded and led cross-divisional curriculum departments at two PK–12 independent schools in Oklahoma and most recently served as Director of Strategic Academic Initiatives at Casady School, the top-ranked private K–12 school in the state. A proud product of independent schools herself, Sandy brings almost two decades of experience in education and a passion for connecting people, programs, and philosophy.
🎥 In our video conversation, Sandy shares more about her role, what she’s working on now, and what’s ahead for Canterbury academics.
