Lower School Scientists + Inventors Take the Stage

The Lower School Science and Inventors Fair was a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and confidence as our Pre-K4 through Grade Four students proudly presented projects that reflected both scientific discovery and real-world problem solving.

For science projects, students followed the scientific method from start to finish - asking questions, forming hypotheses, testing ideas, observing results, and drawing conclusions. This hands-on process taught students that learning is not just about answers, but about exploration, persistence, and growth.

For the inventors fair, students became young entrepreneurs. They were challenged to identify a real need, design a practical solution, and think like business owners. Each invention had to be something that could realistically be purchased in everyday life. Students determined how much their product might sell for and which companies or stores could carry it, helping them connect creativity with real-world economics.

To bring their learning to life, every student prepared a 1-2 minute pitch. Teachers encouraged them to imagine they were speaking to an investor or customer:

“If you only had one minute to sell your invention or explain your experiment, what would you say?”

These short, commercial-style presentations helped students practice sharing key information clearly and confidently while sparking curiosity in their audience. A strong pitch left judges impressed and eager to ask follow-up questions.

Most importantly, students experienced what it means to see a project through from start to finish - from an initial idea to a completed presentation. This journey built confidence, ownership, and pride, reminding our young learners that their ideas have value.

The Science and Inventors Fair was more than an event - it was a powerful learning experience that encouraged critical thinking, communication, perseverance, and belief in one’s own abilities. We are so proud of our Lower School scientists and inventors for rising to the challenge and sharing their brilliance with our community.

We are incredibly proud of all of our participants. Congratulations to our award recipients!
