Middle School Launches Inaugural “Big Cat Volleyball Games”
Big Cat Games Grade 6 Winners

Canterbury Middle School brought the energy - and plenty of Cougar pride - for our first-ever Big Cat Games! This brand-new tradition united all grade levels for an afternoon of friendly competition, spirited cheering, and community-building.

The event opened with a high-energy 7th vs. 8th grade matchup, followed by the 5th vs. 6th grade game. After impressive volleys, teamwork, and tons of enthusiasm, 8th grade and 6th grade claimed the day’s volleyball victories.

Students also competed for awards such as Best Team Uniform, Best Team Cheer, Best Sportsmanship, and Most Spirited, making the entire gym come alive with school spirit.

To kick off this year’s overall Big Cat Games standings:

  • 6th Grade – 60 points

  • 8th Grade – 50 points

  • 5th Grade – 25 points

  • 7th Grade – 25 points

The Big Cat Games are just getting started - we’ll be hosting them three times a year, at the end of each sports season, giving students even more chances to earn points, show spirit, and cheer each other on.

It was a fantastic debut of a new Middle School tradition. We can’t wait for the next round of games!
