Canterbury Inducts New Members into Rho Kappa Honor Society and Celebrates Model UN Achievements

On May 13, 2026, Canterbury School celebrated the induction of its newest members into the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society during a ceremony held in the Performing Arts Center. The event recognized students for their academic excellence and commitment to the study of history and social sciences while also highlighting outstanding achievements in Model United Nations.

This year’s inductees included:
Leena A. ’26, Addison B. ’26, Liya B. ’26, Brock C. ’26, Anayah C. ’26, Azriela C. ’26, Caroline C. ’26, Nathan D. ’26, Lila E. ’26, Vanessa F. ’26, Remy F. ’26, Ari K. ’26, Lydia K. ’26, Bradley L. ’26, Charlotte L. ’26, Bill L. ’26, Sadie M. ’26, Noah M. ’26, Mahi P. ’26, Niki P. ’26, Olivia R. ’26, Natalia R. ’26, and Ava W. ’26.

The ceremony also welcomed guests from the Naples Council on World Affairs, longtime supporters of Canterbury’s Model United Nations program, who presented awards from the Southwest Florida Model United Nations Conference held earlier this spring.

Among the students recognized was Azriela C. ’26, who earned multiple honors, including Incoming Club President, a third-place Position Paper Award, Best in Committee honors in the “Genocide in Sudan, UN Department of Peace Operations” committee, and the prestigious Mo Winograd Outstanding Delegate Award. Ari M. ’26 also received recognition with a fifth-place Position Paper Award, while Riya S. ’29 earned Best Single Year Performance by a Freshman for a smaller delegation.

In addition, Dr. Ronald Young was honored with a Special Recognition Award for his leadership and dedication as Canterbury’s Model United Nations faculty coach.

The ceremony was a celebration of scholarship, leadership, and global engagement, reflecting the passion and hard work of Canterbury students and faculty alike.
