Spotlight on Service: Samantha S. ’28

This week’s Spotlight on Service celebrates Samantha S. ’28, whose dedication to wildlife and the natural world shines through her volunteer work at Shy Wolf Sanctuary, a refuge committed to providing safe, compassionate care for wolfdogs and other rescued exotic animals.

Samantha has spent multiple weekends at the sanctuary, helping keep the facility running smoothly by directing traffic during busy visitation hours, washing food bowls, assisting with tours, and supporting landscaping and cleanup efforts. Her love for animals - especially wolves and foxes - runs deep, and she hopes one day to work closely with the sanctuary’s wolfdog population.

“I enjoy being out in nature and helping out with the animals,” Samantha shared. “They’re really underappreciated.”

Samantha’s commitment and quiet determination reflect a deep respect for the animals she serves and the mission of Shy Wolf Sanctuary. We’re grateful to her for showing how compassion can take shape through service to creatures big and small.
