Step Into Our Classrooms: January 14 at Canterbury

Canterbury School will host Class in Session on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 7:00–8:30 p.m., an engaging evening designed for parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, and friends of Canterbury to step into the heart of teaching and learning on our campus. Attendees will rotate through four interactive sessions, each led by an Upper School faculty member showcasing the curiosity, rigor, and creativity that define Canterbury’s classrooms.

This year’s presenters include Tommy Jewell, who will explore the beauty and logic of calculus; Mike Hibbs, who will bring the interpretive richness of the poetry of Robert Browning to life; Caren Speier, who will guide guests through a dynamic, data-driven math activity grounded in real-world problem solving; and Brennan Mercker, who will lead participants in a hands-on organic chemistry demonstration on esterification. (Participants in the chemistry session should follow the safety guidelines provided in advance.)

Class in Session offers adults a meaningful glimpse into the joy and challenge our students experience every day.
