Upper School Students Bring Anatomy to Second Grade

Dr. Amy Stanfill’s Anatomy and Physiology Honors students recently became teachers for the day, visiting Mrs. Einstein’s second-grade classroom to share what they’ve learned about the human body.

As part of the project, the Upper School students created 3D models and presentations focused on different body parts and organs, including the bladder, kidneys, and stomach. They brought their models to the second-grade classroom and used their presentations to teach the younger students about what each part does and how it helps the body function.

The second graders listened, asked questions, and got an up-close look at the models their Upper School peers created. For the Anatomy and Physiology Honors students, the experience was a chance to take what they’ve learned in class and explain it in a way younger students could understand.

It was a fun cross-divisional learning experience that brought science to life - and put our Upper School Cougars in the teacher’s seat!
