SAGE DINING SERVICES

Canterbury School partners with SAGE Dining Services, a premier provider of dining services and gourmet catering to private schools and colleges across the United States, to prepare nutritious lunches for students, faculty, and staff. The team at SAGE Dining Services has spent the past few months developing alternative service methods, safety and cleaning protocols, and other strategies to keep our community safe while still providing outstanding meals.
Overall strategies include:
  • Temperature checks and universal masking/gloves for all SAGE staff.
  • Socially distanced work stations for SAGE staff.
  • Additional sanitation of high contact surfaces as well as any deliveries to the venue.
  • Food that is freshly made on-site, then pre-plated or pre-packaged into take-away containers.
  • Elimination of all self-service; SAGE staff will serve all food.
  • A combination of disposable and non-disposable containers and plates will be used. All utensils will be disposable. Grab-and-go whole fruit will be pre-wrapped.
  • Two satellite locations will be available to provide additional lunch options for Middle and Upper School students. See the full details below.
  • Individual condiment packets will now be available at all serving locations.
  • All community members will practice hand hygiene procedures prior to eating.
  • Face coverings will be worn in our Hanno Dining Hall except while eating or drinking.
  • A redesigned physical flow of Hanno Dining Hall and modified seating to promote safety and social distancing. Additional seating locations will be available outside and in other areas on campus.
  • Adults will be stationed in various places to help manage social distancing among students.
  • Snack will be provided during the scheduled break times for Middle and Upper School at the two satellite locations.
