Canterbury Welcomes LIFT Speaker Michael DeVaughn

Canterbury students learned about managing the transition from high school to college during a visit from Dr. Michael DeVaughn, our latest guest for our Leadership Institute for Tomorrow (LIFT) Lecture Series.
Dr. DeVaughn is an Associate Professor of Management, Faculty Director of the full-time MBA Program and Research Fellow in the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. Before his academic career, Dr. DeVaughn spent nearly ten years working for Ralston Purina, PepsiCo and Fleet Financial Group (now Bank of America), where he was a Vice President in the bank’s Commercial Services Group.

“The point is to have a plan. You have to be purposeful about how you are going to attack college,” shared Dr. DeVaughn. Click here to watch his full speech.

After speaking with our Upper School students, Dr. DeVaughn met with our LIFT OFF Entrepreneurship students for a working lunch.

Dr. DeVaughn is also Landon School alumnus and enjoyed catching up with fellow Landon alumni, Head of School Rick Kirschner, Associate Head for Advancement and Strategic Initiatives George Pappas, and LIFT Director Rob Nelson.
