Emily J. ’20 Wins First Place in STEM Research Poster Competition

Congratulations to Emily J. ’20 for winning first place in the STEM Research Poster Competition at the 2019 Florida Regional Junior Science, Engineering, and Humanities Symposium. The three-day conference was held at the University of Florida on January 27-29, 2019.
“I can’t even explain how competitive this event is, and it has been more than 15 years since Canterbury has had a winner. I am so very proud of Emily and all that she has accomplished,” shared Mrs. Kelly Percivall, Upper School Science Teacher.

As the Poster Competition winner, Emily has received a sponsored trip to the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium to be held in April.

A total of 17 Upper School students attended the conference. They enjoyed touring UF labs and listening to research presentations. Maya A. ’21 also won a special STEAM award for best integration of art and science.
