Students Inducted into Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

Sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica recognizes “high achievement in Spanish or Portuguese and promotes the continuity of interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.”
On March 11, 2019, 11 Canterbury students became the newest members of this society. The second oldest honor society on campus, this year’s induction marks the 29th class of new members! For induction, students must be a sophomore or higher and maintain an average of 90 percent for three consecutive semesters in advanced Spanish classes. They are also required to have a Spanish teacher’s endorsement.

Students also held a dress rehearsal of their performance for the Florida State Spanish Competition.
