Spanish Academic Team Wins First Place
Congratulations to our Spanish Academic Team on winning first place in their division at the Florida State Spanish Conference! The event took place March 14-16, in Orlando.
In total, our team had 13 Outstanding Awards, two Superiors, and one Excellent. All six students in the poetry category received the top award. The dramatic presentation earned a perfect score and the top award.
All three of our seniors competing in the essay contest won the top awards. This is a highly competitive category and there are only three awards per level.
Canterbury also swept the category for "Spanish AP - Native" in the entire conference!
“Our students were fantastic throughout the competition. They did an amazing job and were willing to go way out of their comfort zone to participate. I am very proud of all of them and, also, extremely appreciative of Ms. Ocando for all her help during the event,” shared Dr. Demi Diaz, advisor for the Spanish Academic Team.
