Jessica X. ’19 Wins Second Place in 2019 Congressional Art Competition

Congratulations to Jessica X. ’19 on winning second place in the 2019 Congressional Art Competition in the 19th District!
Jessica used a graphite pencil to create her piece called “Old Man”. A representative from Congressman Francis Rooney’s office tells us they had 28 submissions from 11 different high schools this year.

The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, more than 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.
