Three Canterbury Students Recognized as Carson Scholars

Congratulations to Maya A. ’21, Zachary B. ’24, and Kenny K. ’22 for being recognized as Carson Scholars!
The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities. Scholarship winners receive the honor of being named “Carson Scholars” and are awarded an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school to celebrate their accomplishments. Previous winners of Carson Scholarships are eligible to reapply for Carson Scholar Recognition annually.

Maya, Zachary, and Kenny were recently honored at the Florida Awards Banquet for the Carson Scholars Fund Florida Awards on April 23, 2019. All three are part of a group of 878 students that have earned the title of 2019 Recognized Scholars. These students continue to exhibit the qualities of Carson Scholars by maintaining academic excellence and humanitarianism, and they are honored with a recognition package. This is Zachary’s third year as a Carson Scholar, Kenny’s fifth year, and Maya’s sixth year. In addition, Maya had the honor of introducing Dr. Ben Carson at this year’s banquet.
