Three Canterbury Students Recognized as National Merit Scholarship Finalists

Three Canterbury students have been named as finalists for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship.
Emily Javedan, who graduated with the Class of 2019 and is currently a freshman at Johns Hopkins University, as well as Ingrid L. ’20 and Amelia M. ’20, both seniors, have been named as finalists for the 2020 award.

All three will now be considered alongside 15,000 finalists for National Merit Scholarships. The National Merit Scholarship Program will announce the 7,500 finalists selected to receive Merit Scholarship awards beginning in April.

More than 1.5 million juniors nationwide entered into the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Three types of scholarships will be awarded. There will be 2,500 scholarships worth $2,500. More than 1,000 corporate-sponsored scholarships from 220 corporations will be offered. More than 180 colleges and universities will also offer 4,100 college-sponsored scholarships.
