Embracing Our Honor Code
The Middle and Upper School’s Student Councils led by example during both our Honor Assemblies this year as they walked their fellow students through the significance of our school’s Honor Code.
This year, both groups decided rather than just giving an inspirational speech, they would each record and produce skits. The goal of the skits was to grab the audience’s attention with its comedic tone and to embrace the Honor Code in all aspects of a student’s life. The skits focused on student behavior on social media and outside of class.
Our Head of School, Mr. Rick Kirschner, reflected on the students’ sentiments, “This really gets to the heart of our honor code: that these are not just words confined to the classrooms and hallways of Canterbury, but a way of life for all in our community.”
