Artist Spotlight of the Week: Yearbook Staff

The Canterbury School Arts Department would like to shine the spotlight on the yearbook editors! This photograph shows yearbook staff who are creating The Lair Volume 47. Canterbury’s 2019 yearbook has been recognized by our publisher, Balfour publishing, for scholastic journalism. “Congratulations for creating a book that both captures the history of the school year and the unique stories of your students,” wrote Mark Goshgarian, General Manager of Publishing and Digital Assets at Balfour.

Each year, Balfour Publishing puts out the “Yearbook Yearbook” to highlight the best ideas, themes, and spreads from the schools they represent. Our yearbook’s award in scholastic journalism means that one of our spreads from The Lair Volume 45: Making Waves (Class of 2019) was selected as a feature in the published 2020 Yearbook Yearbook Edition 34.

"Having one of our yearbook’s spreads from The Lair included in Edition 34 of  Balfour Publishing's Yearbook Yearbook is like when a group of our student-athletes makes it to the state level of competition for their sport,” said yearbook staff supervisor Nick Grey. “We're very proud of this accomplishment and it felt great to be recognized for our hard work. Thank you to our representative, Mr. Steve Ferguson, for continuously submitting our work each year and helping us win our previous honorable mentions and now this amazing award.” We cannot wait to see if this year’s edition of The Lair also wins an award!
