Largest Cum Laude Induction Yet

On Monday, March 22, 2021, a record-breaking fifteen Canterbury seniors were inducted into the Canterbury Chapter of the Cum Laude Society.
Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society is dedicated to honoring scholastic achievement in secondary schools. Opening the ceremony was Head of Upper School Carl Melamet, who welcomed the students before introducing Head of School Rick Kirschner as the keynote speaker. Mr. Melamet and Dr. Ron Young introduced the following students, officially inducting them into the 2021 Cum Laude Society:

The ceremony closed with a reading of “Ithaka” by C.P. Cavafy. Dr. Konstanin Georgiadis and Dr. Ron Young read the poem in both Greek and English. We are thankful that Dr. Georgiadis was willing to take the time to speak with his former students over Zoom.
