Making a Splash at ArtFest!

Our fifth-grade art students managed to make a splash in this year’s ArtFest Fort Myers! In February 2021, they submitted a project to the We Are Overflowing recycled art exhibit. Turns out, they won Best Creative Use of Materials!
We Are Overflowing is a national juried exhibit of art crafted from repurposed, discarded, and cast-off materials. When judging the exhibits, they look for a high-impact sculpture that sends an important message about the abundance of waste in our country.

Our fifth-grade Visual Art students worked with their teacher, Mrs. Hoefling to use only items approved to be recycled in Lee County. These include plastic, paper, cardboard, and aluminum.
