Middle School Honors Poetry Week Winners

During the week of March 15, the Middle School celebrated Poetry Week. All week long, students in grades 5-8 learned to write different types of poetry, participated in poetry-related discussions, and even took part in a "March Madness" poetry bracket.
The winning poem was "Zebra Question" by Shel Silverstein with 10 out of 18 advisories voting for it to become our champion!

“There was a mini competition for limerick writing as well, in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Limericks are tricky because they require a certain rhyme scheme as well as a dose of cleverness,” shared Ms. Shannon Frank. Those winners were Truman H. ’28, (5th), Elan R. ’27, Remy F. ’26, and Lucy W. ’25.

Finally, a division-wide poetry contest was also held, where students had the opportunity to submit an original, free verse poem. There was one winner per grade level.
Congratulations to our Poetry Contest Winners:
Grade 5: Patrick D. ’28
Grade 6: Leena A. ’27
Grade 7: Violet S. ’26
Grade 8: Lauren T. ’25
