Full Circle: Youngest Group to Start Chinese Inducted into Chinese Honor Society

On Thursday, April 29, 2021, Canterbury held its third-ever induction ceremony for our school’s chapter of the National Chinese Honor Society.
To be inducted, students must complete four semesters of Chinese with a grade of B or above. Students also must want to continue to learn Chinese, understand the Chinese culture, and promote peace and prosperity in the world.

Chinese was first introduced to Canterbury’s World Languages Department in 2016-2017. This particular group of students is special to Ms. Yu He because they were the youngest students to begin Chinese in the Fall of 2016. After participating in a candle lighting ceremony, Chinese Honor Society President Ethan J. ’22 led the students in the Oath of Induction, and Ms. Yu He awarded their certificates.

Congratulations to the following students:
Julian D. ’22
Ethan J. ’22
Grant L. ’22
Grayson P.M. ’22
Jackson S. ’22
Brenda Z. ’22
Daniel Z. ’22
