See you soon, Mrs. A!

After 31 years of teaching Canterbury’s young minds, Mrs. Diane Amundson has retired.  However, Mr. Kirschner does not believe in “goodbyes”, so instead we are saying “see you soon.”
On Thursday, May 27, 2021, a celebration took place in the Hanno Dining Hall to honor Diane as she heads towards adventure, travel, and time with family and friends. Special thanks to SAGE Dining Services for providing a terrific lunch, and to Mrs. Laconi for organizing the retirement party.

Diane began her career at Canterbury as a fifth-grade teacher and eventually became the seventh-grade biology teacher. “Diane embodies the warmth of our community,” Mr. Kirschner shared, “and she will be truly missed next year. In my short time here, I have become good friends with Diane. I know that whether you were fortunate enough to be her student or her coworker, you were blessed.”

Mrs. A’s parting wisdom to the staff was this, “Love the kids. That’s all they need really. Love, and each other.” Diane, thank you for your years of service and dedication to Canterbury. Over 31 years here, you have left an undeniable mark on our community. We hope to see you soon when you come back to visit!
