Independent Science Research at Canterbury

Welcome to the science fair season! It’s a time to get creative and dive into a project you are passionate about.
Canterbury School is especially proud of our strong Independent Science Research (ISR) program. Each year, students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to participate and present their research during our school’s Science Symposium. Judges are invited from the community to evaluate the projects. Students in K-12 can also participate by doing a project for the Inventors Fair.

Canterbury students take home close to 50 different awards from our local, state, and international science fairs each year. Since 2016, 16 Canterbury students have been invited to compete at the international science and engineering fair, with three students winning top prizes. In 2021, Canterbury School also took home The Edison Cup for the third year in a row! The award recognizes our school and our students’ accomplishments in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) endeavors.
