Rob Bordley Visits Canterbury School

Canterbury School would like to thank Rob Bordley for visiting our campus to share his wisdom and experience with our faculty and students.
Rob Bordley graduated from the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1966. Following four years at Princeton University, where he earned All-Ivy League honors in lacrosse and football, he returned to Landon to teach history and coach lacrosse for close to 50 years. Bordley was recently recognized as “one of the most successful boys’ high school coaches ever” during his induction to the 2020 class of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Bordley retired from teaching and coaching in 2018 and he currently serves in the Development Office at Landon.

Bordley addressed our Upper School students about the topic of leadership on Thursday, October 21, 2021. He also met with our faculty and staff on Friday, October 22, 2021, to share the techniques he uses in the classroom, including how to build meaningful relationships with students. Bordley commended our faculty and staff for creating such a caring atmosphere. “I am very impressed with the warmth and culture I experienced walking around campus and talking to people,” said Bordley. He also shared fun stories of teaching and coaching both Head of School Rick Kirschner and Associate Head of School George Pappas. Both attended and graduated from the Landon School.

The presentations can be found below via Cougar Vision and our Canterbury Vimeo channel.
