Girls Cross Country Headed to FHSAA State Championships

The Canterbury girl's varsity cross country team is headed to states!
The Cougar contingency ran their way to a Top 8 finish at the FHSAA 1A Region 3 Championships to solidify a spot in the FHSAA 1A State Championships in Tallahassee on Friday, November 12. The squad was anchored by Gabby S. '23 (9th place) and Hayden B. '23 (16th place).

The season was a culmination of consistency and personal-best runs to propel them to the state championships. The initial test came at the District Championships in October against rivals such as Community School of Naples, Southwest Florida Christian Academy, First Baptist and many others. The girls ran to a Top 5 finish, with Gabby finishing third and Hayden crossing the line shortly after in seventh place.

The FHSAA 1A State Championship field will take the line for a 9:35 a.m. start on Friday at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.
