Athlete of the Week: November 1-7, 2021
Congratulations to varsity cross country runner Hayden B. '23 on being selected as our Athlete of the Week for the week of November 1-7, 2021.
The junior runner clocked a season-best 20:53 at the FHSAA 1A Region 3 meet a week ago in Lakeland to help propel the girl's team to a Top 8 finish and a spot in the FHSAA 1A State Championships.
"Hayden ran lights out on one of the most difficult courses in the state," said head coach Charlotte Edwards. "She held her position through the 3.1 miles of hilly terrain to record her second fastest time ever."
Hayden went on to finish No. 16 in a field of 110 varsity girl runners at regionals.
The girl's cross country team now have their eyes set on the FHSAA 1A State Championships kicking off tomorrow, November 12, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. Race time is set for 9:35 a.m.
