Artist Spotlight: Wind Ensemble

On Thursday, March 3, the Canterbury Wind Ensemble performed for the annual Music Performance Assessment.
The students had to prepare three concert band selections for a panel of three judges, as well as sight-read two brand new selections for an additional judge. For all of their hard work, the students received an Excellent rating for their stage performance and a Superior rating on their sight-reading.

"This was the first time a majority of the students had participated in this event and we are very proud of all of their hard work and dedication," said band director Zachary Deeter.

The ensemble is made up of students ranging from 8th through 12th grade and has 30 members. Of these 30 members, over half of them are either in 8th or 9th grade.

Mr. Deeter added, "We are really looking forward to what the future holds for these talented students and how they will continue to showcase that the arts are alive at Canterbury!"
