Artist Spotlight: Kellen D. '29
The Canterbury Arts Department would like to shine a light on fifth-grade musician Kellen D. '29.
Kellen began playing the trumpet as part of Canterbury's fifth grade beginning band class, but the sky's the limit for this talented musician.
"From the beginning, I noticed that he had an incredible amount of natural talent for the instrument (trumpet), but I later realized that it wasn't just with the trumpet. He has a great deal of musical talent in general," said band director Mr. Castillo. "We are very excited to have Kellen in our band program and are looking forward to continuing to make music with him in the years to come."
Recently, Kellen was part of the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival at Florida Gulf Coast University, earning Superior ratings on his two solos and the music theory test. Congratulations, Kellen!
