Juniors Alex + Gabby finish Top 10 at 1A Track and Field State Championships
Canterbury track and field athletes Alex C. '23 and Gabby S. '23 finished Top 10 in the state at the FHSAA 1A Track and Field Championships on Wednesday in Gainesville.
Gabby made her second consecutive appearance at the state championships after running a qualifying time of 11:36 at the 1A Region 3 meet on May 5 at Community School of Naples. Gabby ran to a ninth-place finish in the FHSAA 1A 3200m finals with a time of 11:33.
Alex made his debut at the state championships in the javelin after a personal-best throw of 46.03m in the regional meet. The junior javelin thrower finished Top 10 in the state in his first-ever appearance.
The Canterbury community is #cburyproud of all these two have accomplished this season and cannot wait to see what they have in store for their senior season.
