Three Students Represent Canterbury at Raytheon Invention Convention U.S. Nationals

More than 147,000 K-12 inventors from across the country compete in Invention Convention Worldwide programs each year with the hopes of advancing to the U.S. National Competition. This year, three Canterbury students received invitations to participate in this prestigious event.
Over 300 K-12 inventors descended upon Dearborn, Michigan for the seventh annual Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention U.S. Nationals at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation from May 31 to June 3, 2022.

Mehereen C. '25 placed third overall in the Ninth Grade Division for her invention A Novel Approach to  the Early Detection of Neurological Conditions Using Eye Movement Data.

Elle F. '22 represented Canterbury in the Twelfth Grade Division with her project Packing for Edible Water Bottles, while first grader Emmie E. '33 was our Lower School representative for her invention Bunny Tummy Pops, a solution for preventing stasis in house rabbits.

In order to receive invitations to the national competition, our young inventors had to qualify through the Thomas A. Edison Festival of Light Regional Inventors Fair. Each individual had to submit a video presentation of their invention, a prototype, an inventor’s logbook showing the journey of their invention process, and a poster board highlighting key points of the invention process.

Congratulations to all of our inventors on a job well done!
