Welcome Back, Cougars!

The campus came back to life as we welcomed a new school year on Wednesday, August 16, with a record enrollment of more than 775 students for the 2022-23 academic year.
The Lower School settled into their new classrooms, acclimating to new morning routines, while Middle and Upper School students gathered in the Murphy Sports Center for convocation with Head of School Rick Kirschner.

Mr. Kirschner set the tone for the new year speaking to the culture and the Canterbury way.

“We begin and end with our honor code,” said Mr. Kirschner. “The honor code is not just about not lying, cheating, or stealing. It is about how we treat each other, and that’s the most important thing we can do.”
He also spoke to the core tenants of Canterbury: love, goodwill, and trust.

“Love, goodwill, and trust lead to joy, excellence, and connection. We are all human, and we won’t always live there, but we can always aspire to that (love, goodwill, and trust).”

On behalf of Mr. Kirschner and the entire Canterbury faculty and staff, we wish our Cougar family the best of luck this academic year and look forward to another year of amazing memories.
