Red Sox Foundation Donates $50,000 for Minority Scholarships

Canterbury School recently received a generous gift from the Red Sox Foundation of $50,000 to support financial aid for students of color/minority scholarships. The gift was made possible by the generosity of Linda and Tom DiBenedetto, parents of Thomas '04, Chris '06, Cory '07, Marc '09, and Nicholas '12.
Tom and Linda's support of Canterbury goes back many years and continues today. As to the reason why, it is simple. They are committed to an educational institution that made a meaningful difference in the lives of their sons, and they want the same experience for other students and families who are unable to attend Canterbury without financial support.

As part of the Lucas Match, the Red Sox Foundation gift will be matched! Recent gifts for financial aid in the past few years include the Sublett Family Scholarship and the Fawcett Scouting Scholars. As the school continues to grow, so does financial aid. Gifts such as these make a Canterbury education accessible to those in need.

If you are interested in creating an endowed fund for financial aid or some other purpose, there is still more than $500,000 remaining in matching dollars from the $7 million Lucas Match. These matching funds will expire in the next 12 months.
