The Good People of Canterbury

As we navigate this new normal following Hurricane Ian, one thing remains the same... The Good People of Canterbury!
Our Head of School, Mr. Kirschner, put it best in his recent letter to the Cougar faithful: "Despite the tremendous tragedy that has taken place, many of our Canterbury community have still found the time to reach out with kindness and words of support. In all my conversations, the threads of resilience, a desire to help others, and to also do what is best for those in our community has been a powerful message and one that will help guide us forward."

We continue to witness powerful moments in our community, from volunteering with campus cleanup to helping our Southwest Florida community build back stronger.

Coach Matt Booth and several Canterbury students recently partnered with our local food bank Community Cooperative and Marine Education Initiative, a nonprofit organization based out of Boca Raton, whose purpose is to educate and empower the next generation to take action in their local communities to protect and preserve marine and freshwater ecosystems while fighting food insecurity in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner, to distribute over 500 fresh salads to those impacted by the hurricane.

Canterbury's Rotary Interact Club teamed up with fellow Rotarians to volunteer at a food drive at the Crowne Plaza, as well as volunteer at the The Heights Foundation. The Key Club has been out at FK Your Diet and Gladiolus Food Pantry serving food to our amazing community. There are countless others serving our families by cleaning up houses and yards.

Through it all, the good people of Canterbury have been there. TOGETHER we will build back stronger.
