Canterbury's Upper School Theatre One-Act Receives State Bid

For the second consecutive year, Canterbury's Troupe 5782 will be performing a one-act at the Florida State Thespian Festival.
Nine high school theatre programs from around Southwest Florida hit the stage at the District 7 One-Act Competition on Monday in Broward County, vying for one of two state bids. Canterbury performed their one-act "An Experiment", receiving superiors across the board and a bid to states.

"I am ridiculously proud of these students," exclaimed Upper School Theatre Director Aaron Jackson. "Two years in a row... wow, I am just blown away. It is uncommon for a program to receive a bid two years in a row."

Mr. Jackson went on detail how the one-act competitions are completely student led. From back-of-house to front, the students controlled and directed every aspect of the production.
