Sixth Annual Tennis Open Another Smashing Success

Canterbury’s Javedan Family Cougar Tennis Open was another smashing success!
Twenty pairs of players descended upon the Abuoqab Family Tennis Complex on Saturday, January 28, vying for the opportunity to be crowned champion.  

In the semifinals, Joseph C. ’24 and Dylan M. ’25 overcame Matthew K. ‘25 and Tolga H. ‘25, while Kaden K. ‘26 and Andrew K. ‘28 won against Asher M. ‘30 and Jason M. ‘97.

As the day came to a close, Joseph C. ’24 and Dylan M. ’25 prevailed and took home the winning trophy.

Event organizers Lynnette Cooke and Susan Chicone ’99 recognized several of the players with special awards. They include:

  • Best Serve: Lorelei D. ‘24

  • Best Overall: Harry D. ’28
  • Best Volunteer: Lucy C. ‘29
  • Best Duo: Ari ‘27 and Jeff Kleiman
  • Best Senior Duo: Max B. ‘23 and Ben C. ‘23
  • Best Alumni: Cheryl Johnson ‘08
  • Most Flexible: Evan B. ‘29 and Richelle B. ‘29
  • Most Spirited: Noah M. ‘27
