Athlete of the Week: February 6-12, 2023
Congratulations to Claire O. '26 on being selected as our Athlete of the Week for the week of February 6-12, 2023.
The freshman wrestler made history last Friday, February 10, 2023, as she became the first Canterbury wrestler, male or female, to represent the Cougars in a District Final. Claire finished second overall in her weight class to move on to regionals.
"I cannot put into words how proud I am of her and all she has accomplished," said head wrestling coach Tariq Humes. "She has far exceeded expectations in just her first season as a wrestler and we cannot wait to see how she continues to grow and make a way for future girl wrestlers at Canterbury."
Claire will hit the mat for the FHSAA 3A Regional Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, February 18 at Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples.
